Save the Children is a leading, private child-focused non-governmental
alliance of 29 member organizations that works in 120 countries
throughout the world. Save the Children has worked in Indonesia since
1976 to promote health and nutrition, education, child protection,
livelihoods, and emergency preparedness and response.
Eliminate Exploitative Child Labor Through Education and Economic
Development (EXCEED) Program is being implemented in Bandung - West
Java, Surabaya – East Java, Yogyakarta – DI Yogyakarta, Semarang –
Central Jawa, Bandar Lampung – Lampung, Pontianak, Singkawang, Sambas,
Sanggau – West Kalimantan. The overall aim is to reduce and prevent the
number of children engaged in exploitive child labor (ECL), including
the worst forms of child labor (WFCL), particularly in the following
areas: commercial sex work, domestic service, plantation (specifically
palm oil) work, and girl street children, in targeted areas. Currently
Save the Children has an immediate need for professional staff to be
part of our program team for EXCEED and will be based in Bandung and
Pontianak.
The position we are looking for are:
Program Officer (code: PO EXCEED – Bdg/Pontianak) – 2 posts, 1 based in Bandung and 1 based in Pontianak
The Program Officer EXCEED will responsible as the implementation
controller of the project activities in Bandung or Pontianak on a
day-to-day basis under the supervision of the Deputy Program Manager who
will manage and coordinate the project, including: implementation of
the work plan, communication and coordination with various parties and
provision of supports to project partners and stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Ensure Enabling Community Action (ENACT) model are implemented to
prevent children involved in commercial sex work, domestic work and
living and working on the street.
2. Facilitating the withdrawal, provision of rehabilitative services
and reintegration into safe environment with educational program of
children involved in commercial sex work, domestic work and living and
working on the street.
3. Develop and maintain relation with all partners including the Department of Social Affair in provincial and district.
4. Work closely with district working group and assist the working
group team to provide technical assistance as needed in order to develop
the working group capacity.
5. Developing and provide various project report as required for
program updating to the program management and contribute to quarterly
reports submitted by the program to the donor.
6. Ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation of project activities using the tools as agreed.
7. Review sub contractor reports and advise the technical assistance
team and grant compliance on progress of sub contract, compliance with
agreement and advisability of continuing funding.
8. Act as program liaison to different level of government officer in provincial and district level.
9. Contribute to the design and preparation of materials for presentations to donor, other donors, home office and others.
10. Perform other duties as required by the technical assistance team and other that related with the program
Occasional Significant Duties
1. Under supervision Deputy Program Manager, prepare official reports according to requirements.
2. Liaise with / represent the organization in dealing with government officials / offices on official matters.
3. Perform other duties as required by the technical assistance team and other parties relevant to the program.
4. Assist in exit processes.
Requirements:
Education: University degree from social science or equivalent in relevant fields.
Skill and Experiences:
· Minimum 3 years total working experience with Government and non-Government organizations with similar area.
· Proven track in maintaining program at district as well as conduct monitoring and evaluation activities.
· Proven experience in maintaining and developing good relationship with partners.
· Capability on technical assistance and grant compliance teams
to advise the progress of sub-contracts, compliance with agreement, and
advisability to continue funding.
· Capability on reviewing sub-contractors reports.
· Capability on preparing various project reports as required and deliver program on time.
· Good interpersonal & presentation skills; people person, diplomatic, empathic .
· Analytical, detailed, fast work pace, organized personality.
· Service and quality oriented, proactive, persistent, mobile; good self and team management skills.
· Having operational knowledge on administration and finance function required by the program.
· Effective work & self management.
· Computer literate (SPSS is an advantage).
· Proven and demonstrated writing and presentation skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
· Ability to work in remote areas and flexibility for extended periods of time.
