Lowongan Kerja 2013 Coordinator

Conservation International, an international
non-governmental organization, is seeking applicants for the following position
to be based in Karangasem, Bali:

 
KARANGASEM MARINE PROTECTED AREA (MPA) COORDINATOR
 
The primary
responsibility of Karangasem MPA Coordinator is leading the facilitation
process for the establishment of fully functioning Karangasem MPA (KKPD
Karangasem) as part of Bali MPA Network.  The Karangasem MPA Coordinator is also responsible to generate broad
stakeholders support for KKPD Karangasem and its role as a showcase for MPA
model in Bali MPA Network, oversee facilitation process of the gazettement and
implementation process during designation of zoning system and overall
management plan, and along with Bali MPA Network Manager, support the design of
a long-term sustainable financing plan for the MPA, including facilitation for
sustainable tourism work at Bukit Nusa Dua Bali.
 
The Karangasem
MPA Coordinator will:
 
1.    Socialize fisheries
and tourism activities as non-extractive economic benefits of the proposed KKPD
Karangasem to all stakeholder and surrounding area of Karangasem, in
cooperation with our main conservation partners and utilizing both formal
courses and other outreach media
2.    Facilitate necessary activities to reach the
objective of establishing a functional functioning Karangasem MPA (KKPD
Karangasem) including gazettement process, advocate policy to
support MPA gazettement, and designation of MPA zoning system.
3.    Facilitate the process of
and provide technical assistance to stakeholders to develop long-term
management plan and management structure of proposed KKPD Karangasem
4.    Facilitate the process to attain broad agreement on
management body of the MPA and its role as a showcase for Bali MPA Network
5.    Provide technical assistance and facilitate the development
of local capacity to manage KKPN Karangasem
6.    Coordinate with and support Bali MPA Network Manager
in facilitating the Bukit Nusa Dua surf reserve
 
Qualifications:
·       Master’s
degree in Marine Biology and/or at least 5 years working experience on
facilitating the process of MPA establishment, coastal and marine conservation
management.
·         Strong technical command of fisheries benefits of
MPAs. 
·         Ability to SCUBA dive. 
·         Good command of English (speaking, reading and
writing). 
·         Ability to write reports
